Facebook changes: The most random roll out ever

So, it’s that time of the year again, with the complete redesign of Facebook’s News Feed and Timeline and the addition of Graph Search. I really can’t wait to see the endless rants about how Facebook is changing its looks without asking each of the members if they want it or not.

My rant is a little bit different, actually, I *love* the way the new News Feed looks and find the new Timeline much more convenient. My problem is that the way Facebook rolls out changes seems completely irrational. And I explain myself:

I use 3 Facebook accounts. Let’s name them as “personal”, “dedicated” and “general”. Here’s how I use each:

  • Personal: well, take a guess :p
  • Dedicated: It is an account dedicated to one (very big) client.
  • General: It is an account with admin access to multiple fan pages of smaller caliber.

Now the changes that have been applied:

  • Personal: None.
  • Dedicated: New Timeline, no new News Feed.
  • General: New News Feed, no new Timeline.

We should note here that a) the non-personal accounts have 1 friend each and b) My personal and General accounts share some fan pages.

I really can’t grasp the reasoning behind the priorities Facebook has set for each new function’s launch, but I do have a suggestion to make.

Mark, create a list that professional users of your website can subscribe to and get the changes first as to have time to adjust so that you can keep making infinite moneys. Ask for proof, cross-check eligibility, we don’t care. But please, give us back a bit of love.
